Welcome to the first glimpse of my photo shoot with Dave Gillispie. I have been so excited to share these pictures, because not only did they turn out gorgeous, but they really capture a lot of my style and spirit. Dave and I have a history of working together. When I was in college I was featured in his Women of KSU swimsuit calendar (Miss December for life!). So it was very cool when we reconnected--he was looking for models to capture the free spirit look and I wanted to capture these exact kind of images for my blog.
This first feature from the long, six hour shoot day was kind of serendipitous. We ran across this huge grove of trees covered in white blossoms. Hopefully you can't see too many goosebumps in the pictures because it was FREEZING! I wanted to be wearing like seven coats and a blanket, but who am I kidding it is always fun to wear this white lace two piece set!
This lace set by Winona Australia is actually making its second round on the blog circuit. It used to belong to a fellow fashion blogger, Sarah Loven of Ready Gypset Go. She sells some of her clothing on Instagram from time to time, has killer style and we are the same size so I have purchased a few pieces from her! This set is sold out, but I will link a similar one below. With this look, I wanted to convey how an elegant outfit like this can be dressed down.
Obviously, this is a look which fits right in with an elegant night out, but with the right accessories this set (and most any outfit) can be dressed down for everyday wear. For me, this meant pairing it with some fun, fringey boots, a casual backpack and, of course a hat. I love hats. I will soon be dedicating an entire post to them. A wide brimmed hat is a great way to top off any outfit (no pun intended). For this look, the hat and boots tie the look together both with color and style to create an ensemble that is perfect for the everyday life of the eclectic nomad.
Much more to come from my work with Dave Gillispie--can't wait to share!
