Fall is my favorite season. Football games are back, the leaves are changing colors and the air has taken on a refreshing crispness after the haze of summer. It's really fun to dress for this season because you can layer up and mix your summer clothes with new fall wardrobe choices. It's a must to savor the time of year where you can wear a cardigan and a romper and not freeze--before too long we will be bundled up to the max! I always see cute winter wear on Instagram of girls wearing coats over little dresses and boots; the season for these kind of outfits is so short in Kansas! I hope to take full advantage of it this year. Although Johnny and I usually find ourselves out by our backyard fire pit for date night, I am excited to put together looks like this one for nights we do go out. A big cardigan, sexy romper and low heel booties make for such a versatile outfit! You can mix up the color combos on any of these pieces to fit your style. Add a chunky necklace for some interest and sparkle (or leave this off for a more laid back, day time look). I would recommend investing in a few colors of big cardigans. I wear them ALL the time during spring and fall; plus they are great for travel! What are some of your staple pieces or favorite looks for date night?
Most of these pieces are SOLD OUT (proof that these staples really are timeless!), so I have linked similar choices below.

It was SO cold during this shoot! We shot this look way back in March--proof that this look would work for spring as well! I was SUPER stressed this week over some personal issues that were going on and just draining the life out of me + it was definitely not warm enough for this outfit (haha, check out the goosebumps!), so I am always so thankful to work with talented photogs who make me look halfway decent even when I'm more than halfway a wreck at the time. Much love, Rebecca and Josh! <3
