Love it or hate it, it's that time of year again... Entire aisles of the store are turning pink and red and bursting with stuffed toys, reminding us that Valentine's Day will be here soon. If you are like me and live somewhere cold during V-Day, you probably get frustrated wondering what to wear. I have horrifying memories of some of the outfits I tried to wear for Valentines past. Ruffly pink shirts I never wore again...completely weather-inappropriate dresses... One memorable year, even a pair of sexy platform heels on a date to Chili's (wish I was joking!!).
Instead of trying too hard to fit in the rosy, pink, chocolate-dipped sexy stereotype of Valentine's Day, don't forget about your own personal sense of style! The look I've styled above would be perfect if you and your Valentine are enjoying a more laid-back date. It would also be a great look for those of you single ladies throwing up the middle finger at singles' awareness day and hitting the town! The red silky top is perfect to add that touch of sexy and Valentine color, but the irreverent addition of Adidas sneakers and furry bomber jacket keep things casual. Of course, I always rely on my rag + bone jeans when I want to look polished and sexy. The fit is amazing and worth the splurge! If you want to add a final bad-ass punch to your look, add a leather o-ring choker. The new Fifty Shades movie does come out on the 14th after all...
I know V-Day can be a weird time for a lot of people. If you are single, try not to let the holiday get to you! From personal experience, some of the WORST Valentine's Days I have had are when I was in a relationship, and I've had some of the best times when I was single. At the end of the day, think of it as an excuse to look cute--hopefully this outfit can inspire you to do just that! Also, please share some of your awkward/funny/awesome Valentine's stories in the comments or on my social media. :)
