Here's another Coachella outfit for your Monday morning. This was my favorite outfit from the weekend. Even though black is not very practical in the desert, it's my favorite color to wear, so I loved creating this look. I saw the rose maxi skirt on one of my favorite online boutique finds, 12th Tribe. It was the piece that inspired the whole outfit. Edgy black motorcycle inspired boots and a rugged hat added edge while the choker tube top lent an on-tred aspect This skirt is so light and flowy--very fun to wear! I've had a lot of success shopping at 12th Tribe; I suggest you check it out for yourself! Keep reading for more on my Coachella favorites!
For me, creating fun outfits was only the second most exciting thing about Coachella. The music is hands down what brought me to the festival. Friday was the best festival day for me, kicking off the weekend with acts by Broods, Banks, Glass Animals and The XX. These bands are all favorites, and their live performances only solidified this opinion for me. Banks especially put on a strong, theatrical set that was high energy and high emotion. Before the festival, I was worried that the band performances would suffer due to all the craziness and hype of Coachella itself, but I was happily wrong.
Obviously this is going to be one of my favorite things (and not just at Coachella). There is a reason @CoachellaEats has a social media handle all to itself. The food at Coachella is an adventure all of its own. From the Yeastie Boys food stand throwing everything bagels into the crowd screaming, "Whoever catches it gets a free f^&*ing bagel sandwich!!" to the cheekily named "Pot" serving Vietnamese BBQ bowls, the food stands were an act in themselves. My favorite food was found in our VIP sections. If you're a foodie or just a fatty like me, VIP is worth your money. My favorite eats of the weekend were the ahi poke bowl from Sweetfin and a delectable ice cream cone with scoops of Honeycomb and Earl Grey Tea flavors.
People watching was in full effect for the weekend. You saw it all--sometimes literally with the ladies who chose a titillating take on the sheer clothing trend. All the unique hairstyles, creative outfits and enviable designer bags (this is California after all) made for a constant show, even when not watching a band! While lots of the outfits were over the top or your standard festival fare, there were lots of girls wearing really unique and cute stuff. As expected, the clothing at Coachella was a perfect blend of entertainment and inspiration.
